The location is superb; mountains all around, vivid light, a lovely village. "Our" townhouse, full of character yet with all mod cons. Riogordo's people, friendly and welcoming, a tribute to our hosts' involvement in their community.
Then the visits to some of the most beautiful cities and towns in the world, brought to life through Shane & Jess' entertaining knowledge and humourous commentaries. Their choice of guides in Maria, Jesús and Marta.
You can always take home a moment among many. Jenny's was the walk around El Torcal, mine is the walk in the gardens of the Generalife at the Alhambra.
Cordoba, Ronda, Gibraltar, Granada, Seville and Malaga are no longer names on a map, they are treasured memories of our visit.
As for Shane & Jess, hosts par excellence – they have given us an insight into Spain's history, culture and day to day life. To be looked after in such a personal way is something special.
